Payment Methods
Getting Paid
We operate a daily payroll so upon receipt of your time sheet, signed and authorised by the hospital, we will pay you on time, every time.
We have several options available depending on the method that best suits your needs.
Limited Company
The vast majority of locum doctors work through their own limited company. When working in the UK as a temporary contractor or locum doctor you are able to utilise the tax benefits of a limited company structure saving you up to 20% in post tax income (take home pay). You must provide us with a Certificate of Incorporation and the Limited Company must have its own bank account. Your salary is paid gross i.e. no deductions but you will be legally liable to submit an annual tax return (completed by an accountant) to HMRC.
- Your will receive an uplift in your hourly rate
- You are entitled to claim company expenses, which are tax deductible
- You only have to declare your income and pay annually
If your thinking about maximising your “take home” pay contact our accounts dept on 020 8969 9915 and we can advise you on the best service to suite your needs.
PAYE (Pay As You Earn)
By using this method of payment Medecho will become your employer where we would be legally required to deduct the current rate of Income Tax and National Insurance contributions. Your net pay (after deductions) will be transferred directly into your personal bank account.
