CURRICULUM VITAE (CV) GUIDE
Your Curriculum Vitae forms a major part of the profile we use to tell our clients about you and secure a suitable locum doctor jobs. This is your opportunity to present your clinical skills and experience and what you can offer to a new employer.
A detailed two to three page CV usually provides ample information, provided it is well laid out and easy to read.

Presentation of a CV
- Avoid italics and decorative fonts, and don’t add an ornate border-you want to be noticed for what you say, not how you present it.
- Try to keep your CV to no more than two or three pages.
- Place your name right at the top of the front page, with your contact details directly underneath.
- Have a clear structure. It should always be easy to understand and to read. Your goal is to present facts about yourself concisely and with clarity.
- Use bullet points rather than complete sentences to avoid unnecessary wordiness.
- List your Educational History, Academic Achievements and Work Experience in reverse order- University should come before your School Exam Results.
- Never leave time gaps. If you took a year out, or carried out intern assignments, say so- otherwise, employers can suspect the worst.
- Check your work carefully- Always run a spell check over it. Re-read to ensure accuracy. Ask a person/friend to check it too.
- Your CV is the first impression your potential employer will have of you. Take the time to get it right- You may not have a second chance.

- Up to date CV with the names of two referees from your last two engagements.
- Copy of passport and evidence of entitlement to work in the UK (visa if applicable).
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure issued (Police Check).
- Training Certificates (BLS/ILS or higher ALS/ATLS/ APLS).
- Evidence of immunity for Hepatitis B Antibody, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and TB/BCG Scar Report.
- Evidence of full registration with the GMC/copy of GMC certificate.
- Certificate of Higher qualifications (Medical Degree).
- Registration pack & Medical Questionnaire (provided by Medecho).
- Negative results for Hep B surface antigen, Hep C antibodies, and HIV 1 & 2 for Exposure prone procedures (EPPs) on an Identified Validated Sample (IVS)
